Essential Oils for grief are a tool you can use to lean on in moments when life really throws you all the emotions. There is nothing easy about grief. It doesn’t matter if you lose someone quickly or after a long battle, it’s so hard learning to live without someone you love.
Grief is everywhere, it is indiscriminating and the ultimate equaliser in life. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, how many things you have – there is no escaping grief in our lifetime
Whenever I hear of someone losing a loved one, I am often asked to make a blend for them which I more than happily do. As many of my followers know, I lost my husband just over 7 years ago. Nothing can prepare you for that kind of significant loss. And whilst I was not using oils back then, I do know what an impact they have made on my life since I have begun using them and I know that essential oils for grief are something that can give you some emotional support when you feel like your world is falling apart.
These essential oils are my top picks for supporting grief
Geranium – This aids the healing of the broken heart. It encourages emotional honesty by facilitating the emergence of grief or pain
Easy Air / Breathe – Respiratory Blend – This oil addresses the inability to let go of grief and pain. The people that need this oil often feel suffocated by sadness
Marjoram – I chose this for marjoram’s ability to help to heal wounds
Cypress – Cypress teaches the soul to get go to the of past by moving with the flow of life. This is often hard for people experiencing grief – watching the world go on even though their world feels like it has ended. Cypress will assist with this
Roman Chamomile – I use this in my blends as it is so calming and tranquil. Roman Chamomile is like a guardian angel and leads the soul to where it needs to be and what it needs to be doing
Other Oils I also use for grief and add in for different people
Bergamot – Bergamot works on self-confidence. This is especially useful when one has lost their life partner as it is often hard to distinguish your own identity after being part of a couple for so long. It can really shake your confidence.
Ylang Ylang – This beautiful oil helps to release bottled up emotions such as sadness and anger
These oils can be used in a diffuser throughout the day or in a roller bottle blend to be used topically throughout the day.
Consistent and frequent use is best. I recommend applying to the inside of the forearms from elbow to wrist and then inhaling the scent from your wrist after each application.
